  1. Hello……My neighbor has been trying to track you because he remembers you years ago from concert at Brockwell Arkansas early 50’s. If you are him please let me know. This man is in his late 70’s.He has your picture and remembers your songs. He wants a record from you and if you can call him his phone number is 870 793-0074

Please if you don’t mind!! I tried to call your neighbor but no one answered…I have tried numerous times…sorry..

JUST RECENTLY GOT A TELEPHONE CALL FROM DOYLE SMITH (tenor singer) HE IS LIVING IN OKLA. AND WE TALKED FOR
QUIET A WHILE ABOUT THE DAYS OF BEING WITH THE MCDONALD BROS. QUARTET…WE ARE GOING TO KEEP IN TOUCH AFTER
BEING UN ATTACHED SINCE 1953. THANKS DOYLE AGAIN FOR LOOKING ME UP…CB

  2. I’m tickled to see this picture on here…however, it seems some of the Quartet’s names are wrong….
The correct members’ names…left to right are:
    my uncle, Alvin McDonald
    my uncle, Harold McDonald
    my uncle, Ralph McDonald
    & my father, Carl McDonald

They are all now deceased…I’d appreciate it if you could make these corrections on this site. This picture is from before I was born…so the pianist (you), I gather, could be right…but I know my family….
Thanks in advance for your attention to this…
    Vicki Herlan (nee McDonald)

  3. Hi! My grandfather was Alvin McDonald, we grew up listening to their music! Do you have anything different recordings besides what is on the album? What about pictures?? I bet you could tell some stories too!!! Thanks, Tracy

  4. Hi Mr. Kelton, the McDonald Brothers album cover that you show was the original four brothers, Alvin, Harold, Ralph and Carl…..Alvin was my grandfather. Do you have any other McDonald brothers photos? If so I, and most of my family would love to see them.

Thanks for posting this photo…it holds lots of memories for us!

  5. I do not have any records, just a couple of pictures…I would love to
have some of our old recordings as well…I have a lot of music with other groups but not my first professional job with the McDonald Brothers in Clinton, Illinois Radio Station WHOW Early 50s.
Email me if you have anything> cbkeltonmusic@gmail.com Thanks, CB

  6. Yes I have a lot of stories concerning our travels and wonderful concerts all over the mid west…. One story I can tell is when we had a tenor singer named Doyle Smith…I had just started with the quartet and we were driving after a concert when Doyle pulled out his glass eye and put it
in the ash tray….I about fainted, because I didnt know he had the false eye… All these guys were tremendous singers and loved Gospel Music more
than life….I miss them and only wish I had some of the old 78s we made. Thanks for your response….Hopefully you will enjoy my music…I am still
playing and recording at the age of 80.

  7. So cool to see this…we now have the McDonald Brothers Quartet for sale on CDBaby.com!!

  8. I have recently spoke with Doyle Smith (the tenor singer when I played for the group) the last time before this I had spoke with Doyle I was
19 years old and he was 21. It was good talking about old times and we had a good time. Doyle is living in Oklahoma and I now live in
    Gilbert, Az.

    P. S. I have three of the original LP’s of “Back Again, By Request”. If you are interested, Bobby Craft, the pianist on the recording and I are still in touch. He lives about two hours from me in southern Illinois.

  10. Any info on a bass singer by the name of Johnny Jones that sang with the McDonald Brothers Quartet? I know he died at a young age and was from Farmer City, Illinois.
    Thanks,
    Gary Van

  11. I caught the last half of the Mack Show iniwvrieetng the navy seal friend of Daughtery and the other hero defending the embassy a couple weeks ago, I believe his name was Brandon.THIS INTERVIEW HAS TO BE AIRED AND TALKED ABOUT 24 / 7 ON TV AND RADIO AND IN PRINT NEWS MEDIA. MR. BRANDON HAS TO CONSTANTLY TELL THIS STORY so we can get Obama and company out of there asap. We must regain our authority and strength in the world!! Thank you so much for the Mack Show!! This one was hugely inspiring and informative for our nation! This must be told over and over again until we all, as Americans, see the truth of it and get rid of the incompetence in our federal government leadership under Obama.Appreciate, David~
